A1’s Anti-Vehicle Rope Barrier is an M50 P1 crash rated barrier engineered to resist high-speed vehicle impact.This powerful solution acts as a shield against vehicular intrusion, doubling up with your existing fence throughout the perimeter. Built for performance, this vehicle crash barrier system is remarkably efficient, consisting of just four core components: post, cable, cable clamp, and clamp plate with nuts & bolts — making it one of the most modular vehicle barriers available today. Capable of stopping an oncoming vehicle weighing up to 6.8 tonnes, travelling at a speed of 50 mph within a penetration distance of 1m, A1 Alacazar Anti-Vehicle Rope Barrier is also SAIS Compliant.

Certified with ASTM F2656 M50 P1 our Anti-Vehicle Barrier demonstrates the capability to halt a 6.8-tonne vehicle traveling at 50mph within a penetration distance of less than 1m.

Single-Rope Design

The hallmark of A1’s Anti-Vehicle Rope Barrier, this unique design simplifies installation and enhances performance. Unlike traditional anti ram cable barriers that rely on high-tension over long spans, our method of looping and clamping the rope around each post ensures zero sagging and low tension. The rope is clamped every 6 meters, enabling stable load transfer and making this vehicle impact barrier robust yet efficient.

Termination Every 30 Meters

Our hostile vehicle mitigation barrier is intelligently segmented — terminated every 30 meters to distribute horizontal impact evenly across posts at 6-meter intervals. Unlike other vehicle crash barrier systems where intermediate posts are non-load bearing, each post in AVRB plays an active role. This setup ensures minimal tension and eliminates the need for varied pole types. It also simplifies post-incident maintenance — only the damaged meter is replaced, not the entire run — a practical benefit for vehicle access control barriers.

Shallow Foundation Depth

Crash tested with a foundation depth of just 1.65 meters, this is among the shallowest in the crash rated barrier category. All posts are identical, requiring the same foundation, which eliminates foundation-type variation and accelerates installation. The shallow foundation also enables seamless pairing with our anti personnel fencing system.

Shared Foundation with Anti-Personnel Fence

The AVRB can be installed just 226 mm apart from A1 Akat® (a Class 2 APF), allowing both to share the same foundation every 6 meters. This not only saves perimeter space but also simplifies civil work — a distinct advantage for integrated vehicle security barrier and SAIS Barrier deployments.

Flexible Deployment

The rope-type construction allows natural flexibility for complex layouts, such as tight corners, stepped terrains, or curves, without any need for design customisation. This makes it ideal for projects requiring agile vehicle entrance barriers or vehicle wedge barriers without escalating costs.
